CTA Held Seminar on Charitable Trusts and Poverty Alleviation

In order to guide trust companies to further explore innovative models of charitable trusts for poverty alleviation, a seminar on charitable trusts and poverty alleviation was held by CTA in Beijing on April 19th ,2018, over 100 representatives from relevant fields participated.

Representatives from the supervisory department, China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation introduced relevant background and shared their experiences. Representatives from Countes of Gansu Province still in poverty raised their demands. Representatives from trust companies discussed on the modes, advantages, and characteristics of charitable trusts.

The number and amount of records for charitable trusts, both in terms of quantity and growth rate, far surpassed those before the Charity Law was promulgated in 2016, and nearly 90% of them were devoted to poverty alleviation. 2018 is a crucial year for poverty alleviation. The whole industry should make full use of institutional advantages of trust and inherent endowments of trust companies and work together with all sectors of society to make more contributions to fight against poverty.
